background/personality
Background;
Edea was born to a vampire mother, Estellis Lestat, and a human father, Drett Paveljev. Needless to say, her childhood was a little bit complicated. She did not look anything like a vampire—she was not pale-skinned like her mother, and she did not bear any fangs—but still had vampire needs. She attended school much like any other child, but often had the urge to feed on her peers. Of course, it was only because she needed the life force that humans possessed to be able to survive, not because she had no control of herself.
Vampires, in Edea’s world, survive by feeding on another being’s life force. They become stronger and fuller through the life force of humans, and they can only feed on humans by drinking their blood. They are capable of eating the food that humans eat; it satisfies them, but does not revitalise their energy. Because they pose a threat to the existence of humans, they are hunted by vampire hunters, as well as other beings (supernatural or not).
As Edea was born without any fangs, and only half a vampire, her biology is different from the true vampires. She is definitely weaker than a true vampire, and cannot turn anyone. She is still stronger than the average human, but her senses are duller. And while she cannot hunt for life force using her teeth, she merely just has to use her lips and kiss the entity whom she is feeding upon. Needless to say, Edea grew up quite liberal because of how she had to live her life.
Her father gave all his life force to her mother, and passed away when she was just about twelve years old. Unable to control her grief, her mother commits suicide in order to be with her beloved. Edea did not hold it against her parents, as they were truly very happy in each other’s company. She was independent at a young age, and she considered herself to be a very strong woman.
She has never had problems concealing her identity, as she never talks about being vampire. She does, however, participate in vampiric activities. At certain times of the year, the vampire clan that her mother belonged to, holds gatherings in order to talk about recent events that would benefit their clan. Unfortunately, when she attends one of the gatherings, she finds that there are only a few of her clan left, and while she may not be a full vampire, is unsafe. And while she may not like it, she now has to stick with her fellow vampires, fight some baddies, and kill in order to survive.
Personality;
Edea presents herself as a strong, confident, and independent young… know-it-all. She talks as if she’s a princess and that everyone around her is beneath her, which obviously, comes off as rude. She loves a challenge, and always sets herself to be the best in anything she does. In fact, she often challenges those around her to contests of intelligence and will. And because she always wins, it led to her having an inflated ego. She’s brilliant and determined, and won't settle for anything less than what she is.
Her immature mindset is that of someone who is “undefeated” (in her own eyes), so she may come off as a bit delusional and paranoid to some people. If she considers you a rival and you offer her food, she may think you're poisoning her. She loves being on top, and will say absolutely anything as long as she comes out the winner. If insulted or threatened in any way, she becomes extremely defensive to the point that she lets loose a bunch of slaps and yells until she feels tired.
